I’m starting to realise that it’ll be hard for me to reach 365 films in 2012, so I’ll probably end up using the shows I’ve seen as “compensation” …but we’ll see about that when we reach December, or something =)
Parterapi
IMDb rating: 5.2/10
My rating: 5/10
Note: This film was a bit “meeh” - very predictable, however the three leads happened to be three of my favourite Danish actors; Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Søren Pilmark, and their performances where great, so… and also the film had some funny scenes. =P
Forrest Gump
IMDb rating: 8.7/10
My rating: 6.7/10
Note: Yes, yes, I know.. it’s slightly embarrassing to admit that I haven’t seen this film in it’s entirety until now.. anyways, I have to admit that I find this film overrated.. I mean seriously?! To much fuss over this “classic” - but yes, Tom Hanks is, as always, great!
The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn
IMDb rating: 7.5/10
My rating: 8/10
Villa Paranoia
IMDb rating: 6.5/10
My rating: 7.2/10
Note: If you’ve ever seen a film by Erik Clausen, you should check this one out too.. It’s so weird; it’s like nothing he’s done before - to be honest I wouldn’t have thought this was one of his films, cause it’s much more “art-sy” than what he normally does.
All About Steve
IMDb rating: 4.8/10
My rating: 4.5/10
Note: Not as bad as I had feared..
The Illusionist
IMDb rating: 7.6/10
My rating: 8.2/10
Note: Very good. Certain things were quite predictable (the “twist” at the end, for instance) - at least to me.. but I still enjoyed it.
Bridesmaids
IMDb rating: 6.9/10
My rating: 6.5/10
Note: OVERRATED be thy name. Seriously, what is the fuss about, with this film?!?? I don’t get it. Yes, it was fun, but come on, don’t make it out to be more than it is.
Valentine’s Day
IMDb rating: 5.7/10
My rating: 6.9/10
Note: I’m sorry, but this is Love Actually set on Valentine’s Day in the US. I’ll admit that I did enjoy it; I’m a sucker for romance, but it was kind of a rip-off, wasn’t it? …yeah, I’m not done; New Year’s Eve will come up further down:
Despicable Me
IMDb rating: 7.5/10
My rating: 8.8/10
New Year’s Eve
IMDb rating: 5.3/10
My rating: 3.6/10
Note: This film was not as good as Valentine’s Day. I found the characters less interesting, the actors not as good (and honestly, did Jessica Biel HAVE to appear in both films, as different characters??) …I don’t think I have anything good to say, I’m sorry..
Thor
IMDb rating: 7/10
My rating: 6.8/10
Note: Yeah.. my problem with this film is that I don’t actually like Thor (the character). I love Loki - but that has been the case since I was a kid, so nothing new about that. I didn’t care about anything that happened to Thor, while he was on Earth, and to be honest, I think that’s a huge problem. But but but, the performances given by Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Anthony Hopkins (Odin) - wow! Nothing less than amazing.
The Avengers
IMDb rating: 8.8/10
My rating: 9/10
Note: How thrilled was I to see that Loki was the villain in this film?! A clue: VERY! Turns out Loki managed to removed Tony from my “favourite character” position, which I admit, I didn’t think possible before watching this (and Thor). The thing about The Avengers is that it’s one of those films were you fear it won’t work - but then it turns out that it actually does. Very much so, in fact. My only “complain” is (spoiler ahead) the death of Phil Coulson - W.T.F.?!????
The Vow
IMDb rating: 6.6/10
My rating: 6.8/10
Note: Mmmmh… I’m kind of torn with this film. On one hand I really liked it. On the other hand it felt like I was watching another version of The Notebook.
Another 10 films I’ve seen in 2012, but won’t be writing reviews for…
Dirty Girl
IMDb rating: 6.2/10
My rating: 6.0/10
Cowboys & Aliens
IMDb rating: 6.2/10
My rating: 3.5/10
Note: I can’t even describe how disappointed I was with this film. Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig? I have no idea why they said yes to this project, and I feel the film was a waste of both my time and money. Sorry to anyone who enjoyed it, though honestly I doubt that would be many.
A Dangerous Method
IMDb rating: 6.7/10
My rating: 6.9/10
One Day
IMDb rating: 6.7/10
My rating: 7.3/10
Sket
IMDb rating: 4.4/10
My rating: 4.0/10
Note: I only watched this because Lily Loveless was in it, and the film didn’t really capture me.. at all…
The Departed
IMDb rating: 8.5/10
My rating: 7.8/10
Note: My boyfriend has watched this several times since we started dating, but every time I haven’t seemed to be able to get caught up in it.. well, the last time it was on TV I did, and I watched the whole thing, and it turns out I quite enjoyed it.
Wreckers
IMDb rating: 4.9/10
My rating: 6.5/10
Note: My expectations for this film was so high. Mainly because one of my favourite female actresses is Claire Foy, and to team her up with Benedict Cumberbatch would be amazing. Yes, that’s what I thought, but it turns out that even the best acting won’t turn a sort of “meeh” story/film into a masterpiece.. I’m sure I’ll watch it again at some point, but I was still very disappointed with it.
Fright Night
IMDb rating: 6.5/10
My rating: 4.5/10
The Whole Ten Yards
IMDb rating: 5.2/10
My rating: 5.2/10
Crazy, Stupid, Love.
IMDb rating: 7.5/10
My rating: 8.9/10
Note: Of the 10 films I mention in this post, this one was by far my favourite! I loved it! Even though I have a dislike for miss Julianne Moore, I managed to grow fond of the film. Emma Stone was fabulous - as she always is, it would seem. Steve Carell, well.. he’s just wonderful, isn’t he? I loved him in “Dan in real life” and in many ways the character he plays in this film reminds me of the character he plays in that film. The babysitter (her name just slipped my mind) was just great as well! So sweet, and I found her very likeable! Overall: a must-see!

The King’s Speech
IMDb rating: 8.2/10
My rating: 9/10
Yes, yes.. I admit I’m a bit behind, not having watched this until now, but come on; I was busy having a kid! =P
I bought this film on Blu-ray shortly after it had come out in Denmark, I just never got around to watching it. Mostly because I haven’t had the desire to sit down and try to watch something new, with a baby crawling around the floor, disturbing me; and I didn’t think it would be fair to the film, to not give it my full attention. So home alone, with the flu on a Monday, I finally sat down and watched it. And oh my bloody God, was it good!
This “type” of film is just so me (honestly, who am I kidding; every film is just so me)! And when it has Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter in the leading roles, even more so! =)
Everything about this film was just so fantastically well executed! The costumes, the sets, the acting in particular – Oscar, Mr Firth, Oscar.. no wonder you got it; just saying!
By the way, if no one (if anyone even reads these?!) has noticed; with every review I make a “customized” .gif for the film =P ..oh yes, I am such a low-life that I had to mention this little fact.

Tamara Drewe
IMDb rating: 6.3/10
My rating: 8.4/10
So.. today my daughter decided that she’d keep me at home because she was ill, so while she had her nap at lunch-time, I finally watched Tamara Drewe. I’ve wanted to see this ever since it came in the cinemas, but I never really got around to ordering it (it’s too bloody expensive buying DVDs and Blu-rays in Denmark!)
I didn’t really have any expectations for this film – well, I expected to enjoy it, but that’s about it. I’ve heard good and bad stuff about it, so I didn’t really know what to believe.
Did I find it enjoyable? Yes – very much so! I have a “soft spot” for this genre; these British independent(-ish) films like Keeping Mum, Driving Lessons, etcetera.
The biggest reason I wanted to watch this, I must admit, is the lovely Gemma Arterton. I love her. She’s so bloody gorgeous, and her acting is also very good!
Many people have complained that this film’s plot is rather pointless, and that the character, Tamara Drewe, isn’t really likeable. Well, if this was reality, I probably wouldn’t want to be Tamara’s friend, but as a character, I enjoyed/liked her!
Would I recommend this film to others? Yup, definitely; especially if you enjoy this kind of films (see the titles I mentioned earlier)
One thing, though (contains spoilers); I wonder why they changed the ending in the film, so Jodie wasn’t found dead by her mum - and well, why she didn’t die at all..? I suppose they felt it made the ending too gloomy.

Doctor Who: The Time Warrior
IMDb rating: 8.0/10
My rating: 8.4/10
My first actual dive into Classic Who – I’ve seen a few scenes before, but I’ve never actually watched an entire “episode” … I chose to start with this one, partly because the 1st & 2nd incarnation of the Doctor doesn’t interest me that much, and partly because this was the episode where Sarah Jane Smith was first introduced – and what better way to start out, than to do it with a character you know and love.
So what did I think of it? It was.. good. It’s hard to compare it to New Who as it’s much more carried by the music, SFX, etcetera, but non the less, I did find it very enjoyable to watch.
I made the mistake of not realising that you had to enter the Special Features menu on the DVD, to watch it with the remastered effects, so I ended up watching it with those God-awful effects, that were used back in 1973 (which had nothing to do with the lack of technology, but to do with it having a very lazy editor, btw.!)
Spoiler warning: I loved that Sarah Jane doubted whether or not the Doctor was a “good guy” and actually thought he was behind the kidnappings of the scientists.
Favourite quote:
Sarah Jane: “How do I know you’re telling the truth?”
The Doctor: “Because I never lie.” (followed by “….well hardly ever.”)

Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows
IMDb rating: 7.7/10
My rating: 8.5/10
I’d been looking forward to seeing this film ever since it was announced that Guy Richie was going to make a sequel, seeing as I absolutely LOVED the first one!
It’s hard to be objective on how I would have reacted to certain aspects of the film, had I not already deduced what was gonna happen, (spoilers will follow) before entering the cinema: I was already convinced that Irene Adler was gonna die – which made me really sad, cause though she’s a very non-canon character in this film franchise, I really liked her character. Further more I’d read that the last part would take part at the Reichenbach Falls, so obviously Sherlock was gonna “die” along with Moriarty, so these parts was very anticlimactic to me, though I’m sure some people, who doesn’t know any Sherlock Holmes back story, or the likes, would have been quite surprised.
Cinematically (according to my computer this isn’t a proper word, anyway) the film had lots of treats, I’d say, which I ALWAYS enjoy!
The story, at times, seemed a bit far-fetched, and slow paced, but non the less it was very enjoyable. And let’s be honest: Robert Downey Jr.’s comical and sarcastic would be able to lift even the worst films to at least an average =P
Overall very enjoyable, funny, emotional, etc., though I’d say it was indeed very different from it’s predecessor - Enjoyed it A LOT!
BTW: Regarding the challenge, may I point out that there are 366 days in 2012?! =)
A question about the challenge? Has it occurred to no-one that 2012 has 366 days???

So shouldn’t it be “366 movies in 366 days” - or do we just assume that no-one will be watching a film on Christmas Eve? =P
Ahehe-nyways; now watching Ocean’s Thirteen, which I’ve previously chosen not to watch, because I found Ocean’s Twelve disappointing.. this one seems better to me, though ;)
